Chef Chad Johnson nominated for a JBF Award

Congratulations to our Executive Chef Chad Johnson of SideBern’s Restaurant on being a semi-finalist for a James Beard Award, Best chef of the South region.
Already named Creative Loafing’s “Chef of the Year”, chef Johnson has received notable recognition throughout his career at SideBern’s and to be recognized by the James Beard Foundation is an honor for the TampaBay area as well. The Beard Awards are the highest honor for food and beverage professionals working in North America and covers all aspects of the industry and recognizes those chefs who have set new or consistent standards of excellence in their respective regions.
Called the “Oscars of the food world” by Time magazine, the JBF Awards are presented each spring at Avery Fisher Hall at LincolnCenter. Nominees and winners are celebrated at a weekend of events in New York City that has become the social and gastronomic highlight of the year and we hope to see our chef take home the award!
