Haven to open this week in South Tampa

Haven, formerly SideBern’s, will reopen this week with a brand new space, new menu, and a wine list worthy of its big sister Bern’s Steak House. Located at 2208 West Morrison in the former SideBern’s and Bern’s Fine Wines and Spirits space, Haven will specialize in the concept of crafted, cultured and cellared.  The new menu remains under the direction of Executive Chef Chad Johnson and Chef de Cuisine Courtney Orwig, along with General Manager, Kira Jefferson.  
Fans of the former SideBern’s will delight in the new menu featuring fresh, approachable cuisine and a diverse beverage program. Wine, craft beers, and homemade sodas on tap; over 300 Bourbons along with 100 cheeses, a variety of charcuterie, and over 40 wines by the glass, including featured wines using the Coravin system, revolutionary to fine wine consumption.  Haven’s calling card is its toast-worthy wine collection, which includes 550 regional and global vintages, creating an unparalleled and adventurous wine list, surprisingly more extensive than those found in a classic restaurant.  Signature cocktails are handmade and muddled using fresh ingredients.  
Haven’s modern design blends the use of unique lighting, rich wood, and dramatic accents to elevate the overall design concept for this high energy, upscale restaurant.  Featuring a 25-seat bar, 2500 bottle wine cellar, charcuterie station and cheese cave, guests will be marveled at their overall dining experience.  Additional dining space has been added with an exterior patio area facing Howard Avenue. 
“Haven is new beginning for SideBern’s, and is a tip of the hat to the history of Bern’s.  My parents started with Beer Haven and it’s a natural progression of our brand and growth of our restaurants in Haven,” said Owner David Laxer.  He continued, “Our bar and charcuterie areas are sure to be a popular gathering place for guests, in addition to our newly added patio space on Howard Avenue.”
Haven’s bar will be open regularly Monday through Wednesday from 5-10 PM, and Thursday through Saturday from 5-11PM.   Dinner is served Monday through Wednesday from 5:30PM until 10PM and Thursday through Saturday from 5:30PM until 11PM.
